What to do
First up – how to create the Queen of Heart’s iconic hairstyle! Start by styling your hair into tight curls with a curling wand or a pair of straighteners.
Next, back comb the curls from the root to the tip.
Then use hairspray, hair pins and two hair ties to put your hair into a heart shape. Spray it with red hairspray.
Now to do the Queen of Hearts face paint! Start by painting your face and neck with white face paint like this.
Set it in place with a light dusting of white powder.
Then paint four lines either side of your eyebrows with pale blue face paint like this.
Fill in the area between the lines to create a rectangular shape. Add eyebrows and a black beauty spot with black face paint like this. You’ll see the look really start to take shape by this point!
Next, add the finishing touches! Paint the heart shape on your lips with red face paint and a thin brush. Then fill in the rest of your lips with white face paint.
Put on some large false eyelashes.
And voilà! Put on your costume and your transformation into the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland is complete! For anyone who wants to recreate this look, Jodi’s wearing this Sassy Queen of Hearts costume.
