World Book Day Costumes

World Book Day is an event celebrated by schools and librares in the UK and Ireland. Typically held on the first Thursday of March each year, on World Book Day, children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite character, bring their favourite book into school, have fun with reading by taking part in activities and can exchange their £1/€1.50 book token for a World Book Day book for free. 

The World Book Day charity changes lives through a love of books and reading. Their mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own and to raise awareness of the difference reading makes to children’s lives particularly those growing up in disadvantage and inequality.
