•Draw up a guest list.
Guests usually include friends from nursery or school and friends from the local area.
It is probably best to invite several adults to help.
• Pick the party date and time.
Childrens parties are generally around one and a half to two and half hours long.

• Decide on activities and games to play.

Two Weeks before the party….
It’s usually best to serve familiar favourites.
Check with parents to see if children have any food allergies or requirements and plan your menu to suit this.
• Consider ordering some disposable catering supplies
You can make some food up a couple of days before the party and store it easily.

One Week before the party….
• Make any other foods that can be made ahead of time and store them in the freezer.
One to two days before the party…
• Buy film/tape/check your memory card for your camera/camcorder or buy disposable cameras.
Make sure your camera is charged and have some spare batteries available if needed.

• Finish decorating the cake or pick it up from the bakery.

• Make sure you have plenty candles and matches.
• Decorate any indoor areas (outdoor decorating should be done on the day of the party).

• Fill your balloons up using hi-float and helium, these can be used to decorate the party venue and also so that children can take one home each.

• Prepare any food that can be made up ahead of time.
The day of the party….
• Set up your outdoor decorations.
